Dr. Tang is from the Bay Area and completed her training in other states and in Southern California. She enjoys collaborating with clients and families to generate a treatment or assessment plan to support their unique journey. As a clinical psychologist providing both psychotherapy and psychological evalautions, Dr. Tang understands how these processes mutually inform one another.
Dr. Tang first began working with children with autism during college as an applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapist for children with autism. She has worked on research projects involving pediatric chronic illness, parental substance abuse, and hypnosis. Her own research has focused on parents of children with ADHD and autism and on social cognition in autism. She has taught various psychology courses at the university level. She has also worked as an assessment psychologist with California Regional Centers and the Olivia’s Place Foundation in Beijing and Shanghai, China.
Much has changed in our understanding of mental health and neurodiversity over the years and we as a society and psychology as a profession continue to evolve. Dr. Tang is committed to providing culturally informed and affirming care for the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent community. She has over 15 years of experience learning from clients and their families. She also participates in ongoing trainings, conferences, and consultation with colleagues from various professional backgrounds.
Therapy companion dog since 2011, known for his calm and soothing presence (except when squirrels are around!). He enjoys spending time in the therapy room, offering comfort to those who visit. His favorite activities include leisurely walks, gentle shoulder pets, and, of course, treats.
